Chris Ashton

Chris joins the group of mentors with over 20 years experience in global markets. From his time at Barclays Capital Markets where he became Chief dealer of the London trading desk and eventually Global Head of Spot he has learnt the importance of education, development and training for existing and new entrants into this incredibly dynamic world. In October 2018 Chris, after waiving extradition, travelled to America to clear his name in a trial brought by the DOJ after the FX investigations from 2013 onwards. He was acquitted and is uniquely placed to share his experiences and to ensure others can benefit. This is especially relevant when personal accountability is at the forefront for individuals in today's business environment. Chris has recently become Managing Director in charge of the entire academy platform and, with the help of the mentor group, completely transformed the way financial market education is delivered.

Chris Allington

Chris Allington was regional head of Financial Markets EMEA at Standard Chartered Bank. During his 8 years there, Chris held several leadership positions in both London and Singapore including co-head of Global Financial Markets and Global Head of Foreign Exchange. Prior to joining Standard Chartered, Chris was Managing Director in charge of Global Macro prop trading business at Goldman Sachs. Chris has also held senior roles at JPM Chase and Bank of America Merrill Lynch and was pivotal in driving a new era of business growth and success. Having represented the industry through the FX scandal as chair of the global FX division, Chris brings a wealth of experience and industry recognition.

Maurice Pomery

For thirty years Maurice has traded a broad spectrum of asset classes; his specialist strategy has brought him to the attention of some of the biggest position takers in the world. With experience at UBS and Dresdner as a proprietary trader, and currently using his economics and technical analysis skills to create daily strategy that is utilised by some of the largest institutions in the industry. Starting in the Commodity markets he moved into the Foreign Exchange, Interest rate futures and options worlds. The experience he attained from this background has helped him guide his clientele through one of the most testing financial storms seen in living memory and has attracted a great number of followers in the risk taking elements of trading houses around the globe.

Derek Shewring

Derek has been involved in the Foreign Exchange market all of his working life. He has held senior trading positions at Bank of America, Royal Bank of Canada and Bank of Montreal. He has traded through every major ‘black swan' event and financial crisis since the early 1980's. Derek's experience and expertise have enabled him to become one of the highest regarded managers in the industry and has also helped him to pass on his wisdom to a multitude of people starting their careers in the city. His experience extends to the asset management sector where he spent 3 years growing a UK based fund to £700 million AUM. Derek continues to drive the learning process with his expertise and hands on approach to teaching and risk management.

Helen Culverhouse

Helen worked in Financial Markets from 2003-2018 managing FX Options portfolios and teams for Deutsche Bank, BAML and Standard Chartered. These trading books ranged from simple vanilla to complex exotics that all carried large risks. She has been heavily involved with graduates and clients across all three institutions, developing their understandings of the technical side of options and how they can be used to enhance their trading capabilities. At Standard Chartered, motivated by a belief in the power of good teaching, Helen led a program rolling out mentoring globally to all FM females to try to combat low female representative at the senior levels. Helen brings a wealth of knowledge and skills to our options platform including our masterclasses.

Richard Adcock

Richard Adcock MSTA is an award winning technical analyst and specialises in Candlestick analysis, combining it with momentum and trending techniques to establish both long and short term strategies. Richard has held key roles with Investment Research of Cambridge Ltd, Credit Lyonnais, HSBC and UBS, where he managed both the rates and FX technical teams. In early 2015, he joined the hedge fund Brevan Howard, after which Adcock Analysis Ltd was established. During his career, Richard has been voted Top Fixed Income Technical Strategist in the Technical Analyst magazine poll for 2009, 2011 & 2013. Since starting Adcock Analysis Ltd, the company has been voted top Independent Technical Research House for FX in 2017 and 2018. He sits on the executive committee of the Society of Technical Analysts, where he is responsible for publication of the STA journal and has lectured for them on numerous occasions, including their annual diploma course on Candlestick Analysis.

Roger Hawes

Roger has worked in the Financial Markets as a spot FX trader and manager for over 37 years. Initial spells at ANZ and Swiss Bank Corporation saw him develop his skills covering a broad range of currency pairs including those in the old European Monetary System (EMS). In 1998 he moved to NatWest (latterly RBS) eventually becoming Global Head of Spot FX in 2004 managing teams in Edinburgh, New York, London, Amsterdam, Singapore, Sydney and Hong Kong. Pioneering the adoption of electronic trading within his group he later also became responsible for electronic services across the whole of Fixed Income and Currencies in 2010. Before retiring he moved to a client side role at Fidelity building out their global trading unit. Roger also served on the board at EBS and CLS whilst being a long standing member of the Bank of England Joint Standing Committee and ECB Contact Group.

Darryl Hooker

Darryl Hooker was Co-Head of EBS BrokerTec Markets from July 2015 to April 2018. He continues to represent NEX on the ACI and GFXC committees, with the latter having secured NEX’s involvement in the construction and implementation of the global FX Code of Conduct and promoted NEX as a strong proponent of the Code and Global Register. In more than 18 years at EBS and other ICAP subsidiaries Darryl had a number of different roles, most recently as Head of EBS Market. Previously he was Head of Strategic Currency Initiatives and prior to this served as Head of Emerging Markets and Precious Metals. Darryl is a long standing board member of the ACI Financial Markets Association and is very influential in the creation and delivery of our Global Code and Ethics platforms.

Maxine Dennis

Maxine was Senior FX Trader at UBS, Citi and SG where she was involved in interbank and proprietary trading. Being a good peoples person gave her the ambition and drive to become one of the few women traders in global markets. She implemented and tested the UBS trading platform from its first trade, which became the world leader in electronic execution and continued to be a big part of UBS’s FX business model development. Most ecently Maxine has been trading currency Futures on the CME and ICE exchange at SG/Newedge. Maxine has mentored a host of Graduates through day to day trading, risk and order management and is very passionate about passing on her experience and wealth of knowledge through dynamic education processes.

Lindsay Reid

Following on from a (17 year) career as a successful recruiter across the governance disciplines of Compliance, Anti-Money Laundering and Risk, Lindsay made the bold career decision in 2013 to re-train and enter the compliance profession. After providing consultancy services to a consumer credit firm and City-based foreign banks, he joined UniCredit in 2014 as Group Quality Assurance Lead within the Education, Training and Culture team reviewing training content, methodology and processes across 30 RoadMap Legal Entities. He has a forensic understanding of Market Abuse prevention, suspicious activity and behaviour detection having also worked in the Group Control Room function and now writes and reviews content for training materials and courses. Lindsay will at the forefront of our delivery of compliance, code and SM&CR education.
